Almost Done!!

I was working on my baby quilt last week and have gotten pretty far with it!!

If you recall, this was the quilt top.

Well, I got ambitious and tried quilting it myself. I had watched tons of Leah Day videos over the past couple of years on YouTube and downloaded lots of them to my computer. I felt pretty confident that I could do it!! I had practiced and practiced and practiced some more on scrap fabrics. I went for it. I was nervous at first, but found my groove. I was doing really good... I was on a roll! Then....

this happened!! This is what happens when you're not paying attention. My seam ripper was my friend. I fixed it and went on about my business. Wouldn't you know it, it happened again! I really thought I was being careful, but I guess I still wasn't paying attention! LOL  Well, I got through it and finished it!!!

Woo hoo!! This was the end product! It took me about 3 good hours on and off to complete the quilting. Now my stitches weren't all cohesive. Some stitch lengths were a bit longer than others, but overall I was pretty thrilled! I do believe I saved myself some money by quilting it myself!

Now there's the issue of binding. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but once I decide, I'll be sure to post!

Have a lovely day, friends! God bless!!

Wow I'm impressed. You quilted the first quilt you ever made. I've been making quilts for years and I still take mine to a quilter to get it quilted. Great job!
