Baby blanket!

Top 'o' the mornin' friends. I have friend who is expecting her first child, she's having a boy! Woo hoo! She's decorating the baby's nursery in a woodland animals theme. I thought it would be a great idea to make her a baby quilt as a gift!

Take a look at this super cute fabric that I happened to stumble upon while out shopping!! I squealed with delight when I saw it. I had a hard time finding any kind of woodland creature pattern that I liked, and it's Organic cotton (Woo Hoo)!! I immediately fell in love with it and goes perfectly with the colors in my friend's nursery. I purchased 1 1/2 yds. I figure if there's any left over I can try to do something with it. Not sure what, but something.

When I got home, I looked through my stash of fabrics to see what I had that would coordinate. I had the 3 fabrics to the right (brown, olive green, and light yellow), and ended up purchasing the 3 on the left for more of a variety. I really had a hard time finding the reddish/orange color in the pattern. Honestly, I'm not too thrilled with the coordinating fabrics. I decided to look at the selvage on my patterned fabric and googled the manufacturer and name of the print. Luckily, I found the coordinating fabrics and just ended up purchasing them since they match PERFECTLY with the patterned print. As far as I'm concerned, if there is a fabric line that has coordinating patterns and solids, buy them!! You'll have peace of mind knowing that the quilt will be cohesive with all of the colors! I'll just use the other fabrics for another project. I can't wait to get the new ones in the mail. **swoon**  I hope they come quickly cause I'd like to really get started on this quilt!!

Stay tuned, friends. I'll post a pic once the fabrics arrive so you can see how cute they are and how well they all just go together. Looks like I'll be stalking that mailman after I receive a shipping notification in my email. I paid for Priority shipping because I'm one of those people that just needs to have it yesterday!!! LOL

                                                                   Haha!!  Pretty much!!

Have a lovely day, friends! God Bless you... and for goodness sakes, go do something crafty for yourself! *wink*
