A Stitch In Time!

So, I have been wanting to learn how to sew on cards. Every time I look on someones blog and see stitching on their cards, it really makes me wish I knew how to do it.

Well, my mother in law gave me this sewing machine in 2009 for my birthday. I decided to finally break it out last night and try it out. Now mind you, I have never, ever, used a sewing machine. I am clueless when it comes to anything having to do with sewing. I know zip, zilch, nada!!! While chatting with my Night Owl friends last night on a message board, I decided to finally thread the machine. After much encouragement from my friends, a few YouTube videos, and lots of frustration, I was finally able to thread the machine!!! YAY!! I grabbed an old blouse and started sewing to my hearts content! I played around with the different stitching options and just went to town playing!

This morning I thought I would try my hand at stitching on a card, what I've been dying to do. I grabbed my paper and just went for it. Turning the corners was tricky, but I did the best I could. Well looky at the outcome. I am really happy with how this card turned out. Not too shabby for my first time!!

So what do you think? Did I do ok? I would love to see any projects that you've stitched on if you care to share. I want to be inspired to do more than cards!!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, and please feel free to leave a comment! God Bless!!

You did a great job. I just get lazy to pull the darn machine out...LOL But Singer has this little hand held sewing machine you can buy it at WalMart for less or the 2 craft stores with coupons. Its small and easy, only thing the stitch will not come out straight as much as you want to but I love the look ;)
