A few nights ago, I stayed up to make some thread catchers to raffle off at our next Dress A Girl Around The World sew day at our church. We get together once a month to sew dresses. We try to make things to raffle off so it can be fun for those who attend.
I found the fabrics for this thread catcher at Joann's! It was a 5 fat quarter bundle set. I am a coupon girl, so the fabric wasn't very expensive. I used 3 of the fat quarters! I love decorating it with a fabric flower and a "gem" in the center. Just want to "prettify" it!
Now this thread catcher was made with fabrics I purchased at Tuesday Morning!! I really love that store! Their fabrics are pretty decent quilting cottons, and you really can't beat $5.99 for a bundle of 5 fat quarters! *swoon*
I made this thread catcher for my 11 year old niece who asked for one. She's not much of a sewer, but she does have a sewing machine. I had her pick out the fabrics at Joann's ($2.49 per fat quarter). I bought the 3 colors that she liked. I'm thinking maybe I'll either give it to her for Easter or her birthday in a few months. Not sure yet. She asked for it back in October, maybe. If she forgot about it then that's a good thing because I can surprise her with it! :)
Anywho, friends! That's what I've been up to. Have a great day and create something that makes you smile!!
